:::January 23rd and 24th MINUTES:::

Hope everyone is having a great start to the new 2008 semester, here are the minutes from last weeks meeting ; )

:::COMMUNITY:

            Leroy Art Festival on 2/16 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. We need volunteers to head or assist a lesson for either k-2 or 3-5. Sign up if interested! We will be meeting at CVA that morning and drive together.

            Springfield Family Fun Night on Tues. February 19th, Owen Marsh Elementary School.  We will be helping an ISU grad who now teaches a school wide arts event.  We will leave around 4 p.m. and return by 9:30 p.m.  We need to conduct two forty minute art workshops for children and parents or demo an art making process in the school gym.

            Metcalf Mini Courses: Wednesday, February 6th from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Grades 3-5 Metcalf students will come to CVA Room 17 for art making activities.  We already have to volunteers to bring them to CVA and back but we need members to teach the activities so get creative and sign up!

            Metcalf Production, “It’s a Bird, it’s a Plane, it’s Superman.” Ms. Woywood and students (art teacher at Metcalf) need our help supervise set design and building from now until February 20th.  All the dates and times are on the sign up sheet and make sure to e-mail Ms. Woywood in advance so she can expect you.  Her e-mail is cwoywood@ilstu.edu.

            Transpace show:  I will be sending the proposal in by the end of the week and we will just need to wait to find out after that.  If we don?t get excepted we will be holding it at the coffee house again. If you have not sent me a pic of your work please do so asap, thanks.

:::SERVICE:

            Technology Drive for Bronzville Scholastic Institute.  Collect and donate old cell, phones, used cell phone batteries, used ink jet cartridges, old laptops, old digital cameras, & new/used DVDs & CDs to help raise money for the school’s art program to buy new cameras.  Ask Anne Blue if you have any questions.

            Service Trip: Didn’t happen because ISU wouldn’t insure us and we couldn’t afford the transportation.

:::FUNDRAISING:

            $250 left from trip to donate to W.O. School for art supplies.

            There is a high demand for another potluck bake sale so be prepared when that comes up.

            Possible Ideas: People get donations for every lap they do in a walkathon or how many pins they get in a bowlathon.  Anne Blue and Dr. Fisher are working on a 50/50 raffle.

:::STATE:

            IAEA Winter Meeting is this Saturday, February 2nd from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sign up to bring a dish to pass for the potluck or else $5.  We will have lunch, brief meeting, gallery visit, two workshops.  Anne Blue will be presenting a photography workshop and Evelyne Tardy will conduct a paper making workshop, if you free Friday come to the art ed room and tear paper.

:::NATIONALS:

            NAEA Convention, New Orleans, March 26th – 30th.  Chapter will pay room for four nights (Wednesday – Sunday.)  You must pay for transportation and the $55 for registration.  DR. FISHER NEEDS TO KNOW BY THIS FRIDAY, FEB. 1ST IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND.  ALSO TOUNDTABLE PROPOSALS ARE DUE BY THAT DATE AS WELL.  Who ever plans on attending must help at the National Student Welcome Table and other activities.
