Summer Orff Course

June 18 - 29, 2012

ISU is proud to offer Orff Level I at a new time this summer. The course is deisnged for music teachers, classroom teachers, and music therapists with musical training who want to earn Level I, II, or III training in the Orff-Schulwerk approach. Instruction will include study of basic Orff techniques, movement, and recorders. Special topics on children's literature, jazz, and folk dancing will be included. Class size is limited to 30.

Register The course cost is $600, and due May 15, 2012. If paying by credit, payments need to be made by May 1, 2012. CPDU and Graduate credit are available.

Kathleen Turner, I pedagogy and recorder

Turner

A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Turner is a popular instructor of Orff teacher training courses. She has taught courses at the University of Georgia, University of Memphis, Central Connecticut State University, and Mississippi State University. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the city of Austin and the state of Texas in 2008.

Rachel Aupperle, Movement

Aupperle

Rachel Aupperle has been working with children in grades K–8 for the past seven years. She received her master’s degree in music education from Illinois State University, and her bachelor’s degree in vocal music education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign: she has earned all three levels of Orff- Schulwerk Certification. Aupperle has presented at IMEA District III Festival, Illinois State Orff Levels Courses. She has taught movement at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point and Illinois State University.
