Master of Music - Conducting

All Conducting Majors at Illinois State University are given extensive podium time and are mentored by highly qualified faculty.

Active conducting faculty members will be your mentors as you develop the skills required to effectively communicate from the podium.

Graduates of the conducting program often go on for doctoral studies in conducting, continue as conductors in school and community college settings, and/or conduct church or community choirs.

Orchestral Conducting -- Dr. Glenn Block

Entrance Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8.
Submission of placement credential file OR three professional letters of recommendation.
Present a live performance audition.
Entrance examinations in theory and music history/literature must be taken before the first semester of enrollment.
