Madrigal Festival

Once again the School of Music at Illinois State University is hosting its annual Madrigal Festival.

Thank you for your interest in the 2008 Madrigal Festival. The annual Illinois State University Madrigal Festival is a great way to kick off the holiday season!   The festival includes participating ensembles' presenting concert performances and receiving clinics. This year's clinicians will include Dr. Karyl Carlson, Dr. Tim Fredstrom, and Sarah Graham.  The festival also includes a 1:00 p.m. concert by the ISU Madrigal Singers and Concert Choir, and Recorder Ensemble. There is time throughout the day for participating students to interact with ISU music students and faculty. In the afternoon, there is a combined choir piece for everyone.  For directors, the ISU Madrigal Festival is the perfect venue to hear new repertoire (or old repertoire done in new ways!) and to connect with colleagues.  And the ever-popular director’s lunch is always included!

The ISU Madrigal Festival is on November 7, 2008 in the Center for the Performing Arts , Kemp Recital Hall, and the Art Gallery.  For an application for this year's festival, please contact Dr. Karyl K. Carlson at 309-438-2012 , kkcarlson@ilstu.edu or download a Madrigal Festival Application Form (pdf) to send in. Download the Madrigal Festival flyer (pdf) for more information on the Festival.
