Ensembles

Thank you for your interest in the performing ensembles within the Illinois State University School of Music. Our goal is to produce the finest performers possible and to offer a diverse palette of ensemble experiences to achieve this goal.

Led by some of the country's finest instrumental and vocal directors, the ensembles at Illinois State consistently perform to acclaim both locally and nationally.

Instrumental ensembles at Illinois State include the Symphony Orchestra and a variety of bands, ranging from the Wind Symphony to the Big Red Marching Machine, as well as the Jazz Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, West African Drumming and Dance Ensemble, and various chamber groups.

For vocalists, performing ensembles include the Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, University Women’s Choir, Men’s Glee Club, Civic Chorale, Belle Voix (Women’s Chamber Choir), and Encore (vocal jazz). Additionally, a chamber opera plus an opera production are produced each year.
