More than 20,000 people annually see performances produced by the Schools of Music and Theatre in the Center and all performances are open to the public. Tickets to all performances are available online at Ticketmaster or by calling the box office at (309) 438-2535. Season ticket packages are also available. Contact the box office to receive information about the 2007-2008 music and theatre seasons.

Based on the comedy, L'Attaché d'Ambassade by Henri Meilhac. The Merry Widow mixes jealousy, passion, mistaken identities, and love, all set against the decadence of Paris.

Jazz Festival
April 4 and 5, 2008 at 8:00 pm
The annual Illinois State University Jazz Festival is the highlight of the year for jazz on campus. The capstone of the festival is the evening concert featuring the grand champion from the day's student competition and Illinois State University Jazz Ensemble I performing with a renowned guest artist. Past guest artists have included Byron Stripling, Benny Golson, Bobby Shew, John Scofield, Terri Lyne Carrington, Branford Marsalis, Count Basie, Maynard Ferguson, Carl Fontana, Steve Houghton and Byron Stripling. John Fedchock, trombonist and composer will be our 2008 guest artist.

Chamber Orchestra and Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra

he School of Music is proud to welcome Karen Lynne Deal, Music Director of the Illinois Symphony, as guest conductor with the ISU Symphony Orchestra to close our season. Maestra Deal will be conducting the colorful orchestra showpiece Mussorgsky-Ravel's Pictures at an Exhibition. The ISU Chamber Orchestra, under guest conductor Paul Borg will open the program.

Choral Collage

Join the Illinois State University choirs for a lively evening of music as performed by over 350 singers. Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, Civic Chorale, the Women's Choir, Belle Voix Choir and the Men's Glee will be performing choral masterworks, contemporary songs, and other favorites sure to entertain and inspire.
