Lost Art Techniques: Archive An artist who used lost art techniques to great effect, James
Lee Byars, has died recently. I featured his work in the premier of
this site in 1997. Enigmatic, better known in Europethan in the country
of his birth, it is telling that Byars lived in Cairo, Egypt at the
time of his death in May, 1997. Born in Detroit in 1932, he graduated
from Wayne State University. |
