Metalwork & Jewelry Design Program in Studio Arts
The metalwork and jewelry design program offers BA, BFA and MFA degrees. The School of Art stresses a strongly pluralistic attitude to its students. Although one may be a glass or painting major, the student is encouraged to take courses outside his or her major discipline.

The metals area supports this philosophy wholeheartedly and feels that its strongest students have demonstrated a breadth of knowledge which will serve them well as they enter their professional careers.
We generally have two to three graduate students in the program at any given time. It is the policy of the School of Art to try and support our grad students through working or teaching assistantships, and/or tuition waivers. We provide our graduate students with an excellent and secure studio space. Our graduate students are encouraged to interact with grads in other areas. All grads are required to take MFA seminar which focuses on pertinent issues in contemporary art.
